Jean P. Johnson, age 79, of Matheny Street, Forest City, died, Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the Hospice House of Forest City. A native of Carter Co, TN, she was a daughter of the late Frank Presnell and Emma Hamby Presnell; retired professional seamstress with Doncaster Custom and member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Presnell, Dale Presnell, and two sisters, Frankie Bushy and Luster Meintz.
She was the wife of Thomas "Jr" Johnson, Jr., of the home, mother of Kimberly Roberson (Andy) of Forest City, Thomas Anthony "Tony" Johnson (Dan Boyett) of Charlotte, sister to Harry Presnell, Phyllis Howell, Brenda Robinson, Taffy Hoppes, Angie Voigt, grandmother of Josh Roberson (Candace) of Forest City, and great grandmother to Holly, Kaleb, Bethany, Paiten, and Riley Roberson, all of Forest City.
A graveside service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning, Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Reverend Ron Setzer officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm, Wednesday evening at The Padgett and King Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove UMC, 250 Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC 28043 or Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements and an online guest registry is available at www.padgettking.com.

As a child I enjoyed being around Jean she was always happy and had a beautiful smile she was always kind and good to me. A beautiful person inside and out. Sorry for your loss. Prayers for the family. Birdie Brewer Smithpeters cousin.

I am so sad to read about Jean. She was always such a sweet lady. I loved to see her shopping at Belk. We shared lots of laughs. My prayers with her husband and family for Gods comfort.
