Charles Anthony "Chuck" Haynes, age 53 of Shelby, North Carolina died Monday, December 17, 2017 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. Chuck was born in Shelby on September 5, 1964 and worked as a computer analyst. He was a 1982 graduate of Crest High School and received a double major from Garder-Webb University and went on to receive computer training from IBM. He had also worked for NCNB in Charlotte. Chuck was a faithful member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church and was devoted to the puppet ministry in the church. He also served as director of Frontline in Shelby, a youth program for three years.
Chuck was injured in a swimming accident when he was seventeen which left him disabled. His faith in the Lord and loving devotion of his parents, family, and friends gave him the determination to always move forward. He never complained and he never gave up.
Survivors include his parents, Ralph and Shirley Godfrey Haynes of the home, his uncle, William Lawrence Haynes and wife Rachel of Sunset Beach, NC as well as numerous cousins including, James C. Nanney, Judy Ammons, Philip Godfrey, Roger Trotter, and Randy Schieth.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Chad Sisk and Reverend Leon Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 1 until 2:15 prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202.

We are so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Chuck over the phone on numerous occasions throughout the years and we met several time at Jenesis meetings he was a great guy always able to solve my issues! We will continue to lift your family up in prayer.

I am in complete shock, I owe almost everything I have learned about computers to Chuck, there is no doubt that I will sincerely lost without his guidance, help and calm demeanor. Love You Chuck, God bless your family and Thanks for everything!!!

We did not know Chuck personally, but we work with the Jenesis team and they are all some amazing people so we think just as highly of Chuck. Our prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss.Chuck was an awesome person,never heard him complain he was very faithful to his church and the puppet ministry! No more wheel chair for you my friend ,I can only imagine you haven't stopped running yet with that new set of legs and a brand new body! We are so saddened by this news. Chuck was not only super knowledgeable but very kind and personable when we called him. I always enjoyed speaking with him, and his wonderful personality will be missed immensely. God be with Chuck and his family. Much love is being raised up his way today.
