Tammy Dobbins Hodge



Tammy Dobbins Hodge, age 57 of Polk County Line Road, Rutherfordton, died Thursday, October 12, 2017. Tammy was born on February 10, 1960 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Howard and Merle Daves Dobbins. She had worked as an administrative assistant for the Polk Baptist Association and was a faithful member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church in Saluda. She was active in the church serving as a Sunday School teacher and was deeply committed and involved in the youth programs of her church. Tammy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Padgett.

Survivors include her husband, Reverend Ronnie Hodge, a daughter, Dr. Renee Hodge Howard and husband Kelvin of Union Mills, NC, a brother, Jeff Dobbins and wife Fay of Spindale, three grandchildren, Riley, Owen, and Ella Howard as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Sunday at the Wilson Baptist Church, Bostic with the Reverend John Edwards and Reverend Hubert Street officiating . Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be in the church sanctuary from two until three o'clock prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Baptist Church Youth Fund, Post Office Box 95, Columbus, NC 28722. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Shallow Creek Trail, Union Mills NC.
