Obituary

Shirley Jean Mosley Wade, age 84 of Eastwood Village passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at Oak Grove Health Care after a long illness. She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Venoy and Inez Gurley Mosley. Shirley was a homemaker for most of her life and later became a dietician and worked for Rutherford Hospital and Broughton Hospital. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church but was in recent years only able to attend church with family members and services at various nursing homes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Glen Robbins, son Jerry Robbins and his daughter Lindsay Robbins and her husband Bill Wade. Shirley and her former husband, Joe Robbins had six children, eleven grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Bobby Robbins and wife Linda of Forest City, three daughters, Linda Jane Robbins Miller of Chapel Hill, Patsy Weast and Tamala Robbins both of Forest City, two sisters, Barbara Watts and husband Glen, and Sally Barker all of Forest City. There are also eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Smoak, and her children, Parker Karsyn and Braden, Brian Robbins and wife Leah, and their children, Blakely, Josie and Van, Lauren and David Yount, and their children, Alexandria and Lucas, Julie Robbins, and Maddox, Michelle and Danny Bullman, and their children, Jeremy & Jarrett Padgett and Kennedi Cotarelo, Brandon Robbins, Melissa and Tony Hooker, and their children, Logan, Nathaniel, Andrew and Madelyn, Joey and Jessica Weast, and son Jarrett, Brian Weast and wife Tracy and their children, Madison, Emerson and Riley, Alisa Jill Robbins and son Jamison Robbins and Matthew McCurry.


Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Friday, September 29, 2017 in The Padgett and King Chapel with interment to follow in the Bostic Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 o'clock Thursday evening at the mortuary. The family will be at the home on Willow Court in the Eastwood Village.
